ABOUT ISLAND AND
TOWN RAB
Rab is a small island
& town in the Kvarner bay of the northern Adriatic in Croatia.
On the island are 7 idyllic villages: Banjol, Palit, Kampor, Mundanije,
Supetarska Draga, Lopar and the Rab town. The island has ca.
9000 inhabitants who live mainly of agriculture, fishery, ship building
and tourism. Tradition of the organized tourism is already 112 years
old.
Town Rab surrounded by
the old walls is the living center of the island, situated on a pensinsula
between the bay Sv. Eufemija and village Banjol. This is a
typically small Mediterranean town with rich history and architecture that
lures tourist to visit it again and again. Here you can find beautiful
places to see; palaces, churches, the archaeological sights and pine park.
The landmarks of the city are the four belfries. In the summer season town
streets are bussy with street artist and visitors. Here are numerous restaurants,
ice halls and café's where people meet and socialise. Summer festivals
and events invite into the medieval lanes of the old town.
